Filled with positive energy and comfortable furniture, this cabin is a great place to relax and rejuvenate with good friends, family or slip into a romantic weekend with that special someone. Sitting high on a hilltop affords a great amount of light and wonderful summer breezes. Enjoy hilltop walks in fields overlooking a peaceful pasture with horses and sheep. The space
When you arrive to this lovely cabin, you'll park under the carport and walk the short path to the screened in front porch. When you enter the cabin, you'll be in the living room and kitchen space.
-The kitchen has a stove/oven, a regular drip coffee maker, a microwave, a toaster and a refrigerator with freezer. We provide pots and pans and cooking utensils.
-There is a propane grill on the back porch for your use. (propane is provided).
-There is also a backyard fire pit for toasting marshmallows and hot dogs. Firewood is on premises for $1 per piece.
-Be sure to bring all of the desired groceries. Coffee, ice and condiments that you would like as none are provided.
Walking straight ahead, you'll enter a hall. Opening the door to your left, you'll find the bathroom, complete with a walk in shower, toilet, sink and stackable washer & dryer. Above the bathroom by means of a ladder is a small low ceiling loft that provides on full size bed. To the right, the clothes closet. Straight on through from the hallway, you'll enter the master bedroom, complete with king sized bed a writing desk. Out the back door to the back porch has views of the sunset over your large open fields.
Guest access
Guests can access over 3 acres of open fields as well as the small campfire pit inside the fenced in yard. The whole house is yours. There's an enclosed area of the yard that allows a dog to run free inside of it. Please clean up the yard if your pet leaves anything in it : )
Please inquire and tell us all about your pet before you make the reservation. We must approve all pets. The pet fee is $25 per pet. A money request will be sent to you if you plan to bring a pet or two.
If you would like to use the fire pit, please leave $1 per piece of firewood that you use. Leave the firewood money on the kitchen table prior to departure.
Other things to note
There is a pond and our main house about 100 yards away from The Lovely Cabin. These areas are off limits and not for you to explore. Please stay on top of the hill at the cabin and fields and woods behind your cabin. There's plenty of acreage for you to explore there. Enjoy the nearby Rails To Trails for biking, walking, running and exploring nature. You can access it behind the Blue Moon Bistro restaurant on Route 83, just outside of Holmesville on the way to Millersburg.
Since we are located in such a remote location, internet services are spotty and can not be guaranteed. We won’t be able to give a discount if the internet or television is not functioning. There are instructions for troubleshooting in the cabin.
Non refundable dog fee $25-$50 per dog, depending on size and breed.
Dog limit per stay: 2 dogs
Each pet must be approved before you book. Please message with details of your pet: weight, size, breed, age, temper, etc.
We will send you a money request once we approve your pet(s).
During winter months, if the weather is calling for icy roads, please be sure to bring a four wheel drive vehicle. You must drive up 2 steep hills to arrive at this lovely cabin.
The Lovely Cabin has a stove/oven plus there is a propane grill on the back porch ready to use. Propane is provided. Additional propane is available at the nearby Holmesville Bell Store. Please clean the grill thoroughly after use.
Bring any groceries that you’d like with you as the closest grocery store is about a 20 minute drive. (In Holmesville, less than 10 minutes away, there is a Bell Store gas station with very minimal groceries. The bigger grocery stores are in Millersburg Rodhe's IGA and Buehler's in Wooster.)
